The Fix

Bee Amazing views obstacles as opportunities to learn & grow. We enjoy being superheroes and standing tall in the light of Truth, Life & Freedom!

As promised here is a list of action steps in order of importance. The future is ours to create! Don’t you agree it is time we took responsibility for the wellbeing of our home? Below is a list of actions steps that when taken in UNITY will heal the world.

First and foremost is boycott on the top 3 producers of plastic. The conglomerates Coca-Cola, Pepsi-co & Nestle are responsible for at least 14% of the plastic suffocating our oceans and filling our landfills. Let us stand together, united in one voice. A voice that says I will not support you in the destruction of the Earth. My money will no longer purchase your products until your carbon footprint has been reduced by 33%. In addition to financially supporting initiatives that reverse the damage your company has already created.

For a list of their subsidiaries and products that poison our homes and children read “The Who” on this page.  Create your own list of products to avoid purchasing from the information provided. For me, it is Starbucks that I will no longer be visiting.

Step II: Write to companies informing them of why you will no longer be purchasing their products and what changes you would like to see from them. We have prewritten email messages and company email addresses at the bottom of this page to make it easier for our busy superheroes. Of course, you are always welcome to write you own.

Step III: So often we go on automatic drive when performing routine tasks, like grocery shopping. Normally this ability is a virtue, yet now it’s important to reprogram ourselves. For what worked in the past, is killing us now. Recently, companies who care are making the switch to alternative more sustainable packaging. As superheroes it is our job to purchase these alternatives whenever possible. When we put our money behind companies that care, it applies pressure to the rest. Resulting in more affordable eco-friendly products. Grove.com is an eco-friendly site that ships all your household needs directly to you. It does require a subscription and is not the cheapest way. However, if you have more money than time, I highly recommend it!

If something comes in a plastic bag, that bag is not trash. Rather it is a bag to be repurposed. I will continually be posting blogs on tips & tricks to reusing, repurposing, up-cycling and reducing. Here are a few to start.

Reuse take out containers rather than purchasing rubber maid. Or refill them and feed the less fortunate. The pads inside of sports bras work great to clean mirrors and other similar surfaces.

  1. Refillable hydro/water bottle
  2. Laundry detergent sheets no bottles.
  3. Re-usable shopping and produce bags.
  4. Re-usable metal straws
  5. Bio-degradable coffee pods
  6. Plant based rather than synthetic house hold items such as toothbrushes, dish scrubbers & trash bags.

Ultimately when one is mindful of their plastic consumption, they are passing on sustainable behavior traits and ensuring a brighter future.

Nestle contact & scripted email.

Here is the link to their contact page: Need to talk to us? Contact us here (nestle-cwa.com)

At the bottom of the Nestle site there is an email form. “Question” is already preselected, then copy paste the script below and fill out your information.

Dear Nestle, how can you claim that “Ultimately, our goal is to leave the world better than we found it.” when you are one of the top 3 producers of plastic that is killing OUR home? There are now microplastics in rainwater. You claim to care and yet your response to the damage you are continuing to create daily is negligible. I understand that you have pledged to make at least 95% of your container’s “recyclable”, that is joke. I and many others like me will no longer be purchasing your products until you decrease your plastic production by at least 33%. For it does not matter if your products come in recyclable containers, when only between 9-15% of all plastic makes it to a recycling center.

You have also done nothing to address the plastic that bears your label, already in our environment & overflowing our landfills. Your executives are continued to be made rich due to your unwillingness to put your money where your mouth is. You make big claims of Nestle’s commitment to sustainability, to that I say, “show me.” Show me, by donating 3% of all future proceeds to initiatives working to clean up the environmental crisis you and others like you have created. We demand that as a leader in the industry you set a more sustainable example and until you do superheroes will spend our money elsewhere.

Dear Coca-Cola, I’m writing to find out what the plan is? Since you are the #1 plastic polluter in the world you must know some secrets. For at least a couple of your decision makers have children and grandchildren. While you may not care that the rest of us are dying, do you not care about your own? There are now microplastics in rainwater, your money can no longer save you. Together you and others who chose greed over life have made the planet toxic and soon uninhabitable. Mars is not even close to a substitute for Earth, so what is your plan?

My plan is that me and others like me will no longer be purchasing your poison products until you decrease your plastic production by at least 33%. For it does not matter if your products come in recyclable containers, when only between 9-15% of all plastic makes it to a recycling center. So, a pledge to make 95% of your packaging recyclable is a joke and will have little effect.

You have also done nothing to address the plastic that bears your label already in our environment and overflowing landfills. Your executives are continued to be made rich due to your unwillingness to make simple more sustainable packaging. Producing over 110 billion plastic bottles a year, you are the number one plastic polluter. Bee creative, design a system where you can collect and re-use them. Do something other than unapologetically making the only home we have uninhabitable.

For as a decent informed individual who values life, I can no longer purchase your poison products. I will not be apart of your mass murder. Switch to eco-friendly packing and donate 3% of all future proceeds to initiatives working to clean up the environmental crisis you and others like you have created. Only then will I be a customer once more. We demand that as a leader in the industry you set a more sustainable example and until you do, superheroes will spend our money elsewhere.

Dear Pepsi-Co

I am contacting you, as you are one of the top 3 producers of plastic in our environment. Your website talks a lot about sustainability. The page on Pep+ covers everything from agriculture to packaging and emissions. Yet currently all I see is a list of vague goals.

I understand that along with Coca-Cola and nestle you have pledged to make at least 95% of your container “recyclable”, that is joke. I and many others like me will no longer be purchasing your products until you decrease your plastic production by at least 33%. For it does not matter if your products come in recyclable containers, when only between 9-15% of all plastic makes it to a recycling center. Which the likes of are even stated on your website. You should have spent the $10 million on innovating a bottle re-capture & reuse program.

You have also done nothing to address the plastic already in our environment and landfills that bears your label. Your executives are continued to be made rich due to your unwillingness to put your money where your mouth is. You make big claims of Pepsi-Co’s commitment to sustainability, to that I say, “show me.” Show me, by donating 3% of all future proceeds to initiatives working to clean up the environmental crisis you and others like you have created. We demand that as a leader in the industry you set a more sustainable packaging example and until you do superheroes will spend our money elsewhere.
